Steve Scolnik

Steve joined Portfolio Advisors in 2020 and has more than 25 years of experience implementing, developing and securing information technology platforms in the finance, entertainment, and defense industries. Prior to Portfolio Advisors, he founded a virtual CTO consulting firm for hedge fund, private equity, and legal clients. Before consulting, Steve was the CTO for Discovery Capital Management, a global macro multi-strategy hedge fund with peak assets of $16 billion, where he founded that firm’s information technology division. Prior to Discovery, he was a Vice President at Silver Point Capital, a hedge fund specializing in securities of distressed large-cap to mid-cap companies and diversified credit-related investments. Steve managed the infrastructure, software, and desktop support teams for all of Silver Point’s public and private businesses. Earlier in his career, Steve also managed Sony BMG Music Entertainment’s North American infrastructure and desktop support teams, was an Integration Engineer and Senior Support Manager for Morgan Stanley Investment Management, and a database developer for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.
